Charoen Sirivadhanabhakdi enters into the IT business by establishing TCC Technology (TCCT) for Internet Data Center (IDC) services. TCCT will build its base of IT offerings by initially servicing the TCC Group of Companies. TCCT believes that in the next 3 years, the IT outsourcing trend will be fully accepted in Thailand.
Mr. Kosit Suksingha, GM of TCCT, said that this is the first IT company that Khun Charoen Sirivadhanabhakdi, President of TCC Group, invested in.
The TCC Group has companies in the Property, Hotel, Consumer Products and Liquor industries.
The reason for establishing this company is because the management sees great opportunity in IT outsourcing. Management believes the potential market size for IT outsourcing will be profitable. The company plans to provide full, wide-ranging IT services for the TCC Group and other external companies within the 3-year target.
TCCT will initially offer Infrastructure services through their Data Center. This Data Center is fully operational and located at Empire Tower. TCCT hired the services of PM-B, a Singaporean alliance partner with expertise in Data Center design, for the construction of the TCCT Data Center.
The Data Center services will cover Basic Services from Co-location, Network System Management, and Broadband Internet Services to highly technical Advanced Services including Application Hosting and Disaster Recovery Center.
“Our company’s expertise lies in Application Hosting of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, especially SAP implementations. Our SAP client base include manufacturing-related businesses that require implementation of an enterprise system. Revenues from this area accounts for a major portion of our total revenues,” said Kosit Suksingha.
TCC Technology does admit that the industry is a little sluggish resulting in some competitors closing down. TCC Technology‘s strength lies in the strong demand from companies within the Group. It is viewed that Application Hosting demand from these group members is more sustainable than basic infrastructure.
The outsourcing principle focuses on sharing resources. Therefore, using IDC services will reduce IT spending costs for companies within the TCC group. Such cost savings include ERP software licenses and Network Management Tools. TCC Technology will use its aggregated demand to purchase large volumes from vendors and then charge competitive service fees.
By the end of this year, TCC Technology will offer more variety of services at flexible prices to support all levels of customer budgets. Pricing includes usage fees by month according to number of users for Application Hosting.
