August 29, 2012, Bangkok - As Thailand’s leading data center service provider and regional content hub providing neutral connectivity services for large, diversified content providers across Southeast Asia, TCC Technology (TCCT) is expanding its services to support the first and largest English language bookstore chain and distributor in Thailand, Asia Books, with the launch of ‘Thailand Book Search’ leveraging Google search technology to provide the most relevant search results to Asia Books online customers.
Through the TCCT - Asia Books partnership, which is the first of its kind in Thailand, the comprehensive Asia Books online database of 7 million titles will now be powered by TCCT and the Google Search Appliance (GSA), allowing Asia Books to enhance its competitive advantage and ensure their valued customers can search, find and purchase the titles they want faster and easier than ever before.
TCCT’s Internet Commercial Exchange (ICX) provides an open Internet traffic exchange between networks through Peering which benefits Internet Service Providers (ISPs), Network Service Providers (NSPs), Medium to Large Enterprises (MLEs) and Content Providers (CPs).
TCCT’s provision of ICX allows for Internet traffic exchange with low latency while improving bandwidth, saving time and reducing costs for its customers. Currently, TCCT’s data centers are Hubs for large, diversified content-based providers such as newspapers and business enterprises. Through this first-of-its-kind partnership in Thailand, the comprehensive Asia Books online database will now be powered by TCCT and Google Search Appliance (GSA). Just like visiting a physical book store, its never been easier for customers to find and purchase online and they can even save time and travel costs.
Mr. Kosit Suksingha, Managing Director of T.C.C. Technology Co., Ltd. said, “TCC Technology’s enterprise data centers: Empire Tower Data Center (ETDC) at the heart of Bangkok and Bangna Data Center (BNDC) at TCIF building close to international airport aim to provide premium, trusted data center services and Internet Commercial Exchange. Being able to offer Google Search Appliance (GSA) as value-added services to TCCT's existing services delivers benefits to both enterprises and end users. As a regional hub providing neutral connectivity services to Southeast Asia and every part of the world, enterprises can reduce investment cost, optimize performance, increase sales channel or sales opportunity, and store, manage, integrate, and categorize internal data with Google Search Appliance. From a Business to Customer (B2C) perspective, Asia Books have proved that using GSA as their search engine, powered by TCCT, delivers greater convenience, satisfaction and confidentiality for customers.”
Mr. Sirote Jiraprayoon, Director of Asia Books Co., Ltd. said, “With approximately 7 million books in stock, it can be difficult for customers to search and find the books they want. For Asia Books, this is more than effectively managing inventory, it is about consistently putting the customer first and we have received very positive feedback from our customers since applying GSA to power our search, reinforced by TCCT's data storage, back up and Open Exchange. This new online service and sales channel is in line with market trends as more and more of our customers are online and we plan to expand our online book database to meet this future demand.”
Johan Segergren, Country Manager for Google Enterprise in Thailand and Philippines, said "Google is excited to see a traditional brick and mortar business like Asia Books take their business to the cloud. It marks a shift in how Thai businesses view Internet and have seen an increased interest of others who want to follow in their footsteps."
