The partnership will provide the participating data centers with enhanced security, network and reliability for their content and applications.
SINGAPORE, 19 November 2014 – 1-Net (Singapore), CyberCSF (Indonesia), PCCW Global (Hong Kong), and TCCT (Thailand) today announce partnership collaboration to expand its network in Southeast Asia and also for further expansion into Hong Kong. This collaboration will enable the four data centers to connect and form a cost-effective and strategic inter-connection, allowing them to cache high demand applications and content on their networks to enhance security, connectivity, and reliability.
This partnership is in line with Singapore’s Infocomm Media Masterplan, where Singapore is positioned as a “Digital Harbour" to drive more data, content and digital services into Singapore through the inter-connectivity of data centers.
Seeing importance of “Digital Economy”: Era of AEC, Investment, Business Operation and Transaction with agility via IT, 1-Net, CyberCSF, PCCW Global, and TCCT support government’s policy to boost country’s technology readiness and add up value for businesses providing 1)Multi-sited data centers of four members in four countries at strategic locations: Singapore, Indonesia, Hong Kong, and Thailand, 2)Business Transaction (physical and electronic) Transaction and E-Commerce supports, 3) Borderless Connectivity and Internet, and 4) “ASEAN Hub” expanding IT capacity to Asian market - bridging all countries into creating carrier neutral hub. Moreover it is also to fortify entrepreneurs and enterprises’ readiness for ASEAN Economic Community (AEC 2015).
Creating a High Speed Asian Data Center Corridor
Using ASEAN as a data center hub in this agreement, all partners will have the option to connect to all four participating data centers directly through a “Data Center Corridor”. This will enable 1-Net, CyberCSF, TCCT and PCCW Global to access to domestic and international markets more rapidly and more easily, and will in turn improve the customers’ network experience at lower latency and cost.
“We are delighted to partner with the Asia’s leading data center providers to introduce a high-speed access network in Asia. Global data center traffic growth will be almost tripled by 2018, and the introduction of the data center corridor will be key in addressing this growth. A similar agreement was also signed between 1-Net, Cyber CSF and TCCT earlier in October 2014.
