Khun Kosit shared his idea regarding whether Thailand is ready for becoming Indo-China hub, “Everything is now becoming “Commoditized”. Thailand is setting the country in motion towards Digital Economy. Digital Economy changes the way of doing business. At present everything is interconnected and Cloud has become more crucial. As a private sector we think this national transition is “Content-Driven” one. Therefore first and foremost, Colocation and Cloud are crucial as they will help speed up performance for enterprises and end users. Fortunately Thailand also has shortest route to every country. Data center is part of ecosystem.”
Khun Kosit also added, “Most importantly it is about content. Data floats in and out everywhere and we need storage. We can utilize our country’s geographical advantage. We can connect people from every part together and make sure they have and are facilitated by best-in-class infrastructure. TCCT, as Thailand’s leading carrier-neutral data center, Cloud, and IT infrastructure provider, fully supports the country and closely collaborates with government and believes Thailand can become Indo-China hub in the near future.”
Dr. Sak Segkhoonthod, President and CEO of Electronic Government Agency, as a representative of public sector said in the panel, “This year it has become more tangible in terms of government policy and we are committed to have action plan for Digital Economy this year. EGA is trying to support and facilitate users with online applications according to “Digital Government Plan”. The government is working on related laws and regulations in order to support Thailand’s transition and make it an “Indo-China Hub.”
Mr. Mark Thiele, EVP Ecosystem Development & Evangelism, Supernap International said, “Understanding and grapping opportunity are the most two important factors to accomplish this mission. Thailand has many opportunities await but how can we address them is the key. Having clear roles between public and private sectors will lead to an establishment of higher education and skilled knowledge development for people in the country. This will be part that can make Thailand become Hub of Indo-China.”
