E-commerce or Electronic Commerce is business operation, production, distribution, marketing, sale, product, service delivery, and all transactions related to commercial activities both for organizations and people via electronic tools e.g. text messages, voices, and photos. E-commerce mainly focuses on product and service trading via Internet network. It can be said that E-commerce is part of E-business and can be categorized into:
1.1 Government to Government (G2G): is the process form of government office that was changed and developed formerly from traditional Bureaucracy communication (via paper documents and signatures) to Information Technology network and electronic system.
1.2 Government to Customer (G2C): is the direct working interaction between people and Government Communication and Information System. G2C will be functioned in online and real time systems.
1.3 Government to Business (G2B): is the service that government will facilitate to business and manufacturing sectors to result in data accuracy and transparency.
1.4 Government to Employee (G2E) is the service made between government and its employees by creating system beneficial for working operation and living pattern.
3.1 Business to Customer (B2B) is the doing of business between vendors and consumers such as selling.
3.2 Business to Business (B2B) is the doing of business among entrepreneurs. This covers the complex layers of wholesale and production supply chain.
3.3 Customers to Customers (C2C) is the interaction between consumers and consumers. The objective is to exchange information and also products trading.
3.4 Business to Government (B2G) is the business act between private and public sectors. For the E-commerce developed countries in, governments will migrate the trading activities to electronic platform for cost-saving benefits.
3.5 Government to Customer (G2C) is the Government’s services through electronic system. Citizen can check and accumulate all information necessary from the website.
From the above factors, not only both public and private sectors will gain benefits from all E- Services but people will also be offered a variety of services via internet. E-Services will also help reduce inequality on people’s accessibility to government’s information and service including enhancing transparency in government service to people. At present there are many government sectors launching online services and among them is the Revenue Department. This government body launched
“e-Revenue” allowing online tax payment through internet or at the Department of Commercial (via online registration) including online university enrollment. All of these are benef it when we move forward to Era of Electronics.
